The prolonged debate over a medicinal marijuana dispensary in the Stony Hill section of Bethel appears to be nearing its end.
The Zoning Board of Appeals has reached unanimous consensus that town planner Steve Palmer correctly issued a special permit to D&B Wellness Inc. to open Fairfield County’s only dispensary on Garella Road, and the appeal by two residents seeking to reverse the decision is without merit.
The board requested Bethel land-use attorney Charles Andres draft a formal resolution to be voted upon at its Aug. 19 meeting, where they are expected to throw out the appeal, assistant town planner Beth Cavagna said.
