MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis native and former Tiger star Joe Jackson was arrested on four charges, including two felonies, in Memphis on Wednesday night.
Jackson is pleading not guilty in the case. He is being represented by Leslie Ballin.
He appeared in court Friday morning.
Jackson, who graduated from White Station High School in 2010 and the University of Memphis in 2014, was charged with possession of a firearm, manufacturing with the intent to deliver or sell a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and an improper turn.
Jackson reportedly made a left turn on a right turn only sign near Trezevant and Airways.
An officer made a traffic stop, smelled marijuana, and asked Jackson to search the vehicle.
Police said they found a backpack in the rear passenger side that smelled like raw marijuana.
Inside the backpack, police found a pill bottle with various colored pills and no label. The pills had symbols of a naked woman, 4-leaf clover, Superman symbol, and dolphin on them.
