Joe Jackson, former Memphis Tigers White Station High School basketball star, was arrested Wednesday on felony drug and gun charges. Here’s what we know:
Joe Jackson was pulled over in a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro he was driving around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on Trezevant Street, off Airways in the Bethel Grove neighborhood, after police said he made an improper left turn to head eastbound on Lamar Avenue.
Police said they smelled marijuana when they approached his vehicle. They asked Jackson for permission to search the vehicle and officers said they found 100 ecstasy pills, two guns and $4,500 in $100 bills inside a Louis Vuitton backpack found on the backseat of the vehicle.
