Legalize medical cannabis to cut opioid deaths

Vera speaks eloquently for all Tennesseans who suffer from chronic unbearable pain. Her arguments are informed and convincing. With research solidly demonstrating 25 percent fewer opioid-related deaths in states that have legalized medical cannabis, and with Tennessee communities in a state of siege, losing people daily in staggering numbers due to the ongoing opioid epidemic, it is clear that we can place the responsibility for 25 percent of our state’s opioid overdose deaths squarely on the shoulders of those local and state lawmakers who continue to oppose the legalization of medical cannabis.
