MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A man is facing charges after police said they found him with marijuana and guns in a car with two small children in the backseat.
Antonio Smith is charged with possession of firearms during the commission of a felony, possession of marijuana with intent to sell/deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended or revoked license, violation of vehicle registration law, and violation of financial law.
Police said Smith was pulled over near Winchester and Durrand with expired temporary tags on Saturday.
When Smith rolled down the window, the officer said he smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana.
Smith’s fiance and their 1-year-old and 3-year-old were also in the car.
Smith told police he bought the car from someone off the street who filled out a temporary tag for it.
Police found out Smith’s license was revoked on 7/23/15 for driving with a suspended license.
