Miracle Pounds, Brad Shipley, Bradley Crouch and Derek Newman all appeared in Lake County Court to answer to charges that stemmed from a traffic stop and house search last week.
Pounds, 35, was arrested after officers say they found marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the car she was driving when she was pulled over on Old Highway 78. Pounds was also charged with tampering with evidence after officers say she tried eating marijuana as officers searched her car.
She is facing possession of schedule II methamphetamine, possession of schedule VI marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia charges and is currently being held at the Lake County Jail on a bond of $75,000.
The passenger in the car, Brad Shipley, 33 of Ridgely, was arrested for simple possession of marijuana. He pleaded guilty and was granted unsupervised probation.
Crouch, 32 of Gadsen and Newman, 31 of Alamo, were arrested after officers say they tried hiding in a truck during a follow-up search of a home in Lake County.
Officers found marijuana, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a loaded 9mm handgun in that truck. Inside the house, officers recovered more methamphetamine and marijuana.
Crouch and Newman were charged with possession of schedule II methamphetamine, possession of schedule VI marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Newman was also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Newman and Crouch are currently being held at Lake County Jail on bond of $20,000.
The Ridgley Police Department assisted with the search of the residence. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Tiptonville Police Department during the traffic stop.
