State Rep. Jeff Yaroch, who represents District 33 in the Michigan House of Representatives, recently completed a busy first year in Lansing.
A Richmond resident, Yaroch was elected to serve a two-year term in 2016. His district includes Armada, Lenox, Ray and Richmond townships, the cities of Richmond and Memphis, and the villages of New Haven and Armada.
Yaroch served on the Richmond City Council for 17 years and retired following a 25-year career as a firefighter with the Clinton Township Fire Department.
It has been a hectic, but successful, year for Yaroch as he adjusts to staying in Lansing several days each week and commuting home to his wife Sara and their daughters, 4-year-old Reagan and 2-year-old Madison.
It has also been a productive year, with Yaroch introducing 33 bills and resolutions, maintaining a 100 percent voting record and serving on the corrections, transportation and appropriations committees.
The Voice caught up with Yaroch at the first of seven community in-district meetings scheduled across Macomb County over the next few months. The open discussions invite his constituents to stop by
