CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) —
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) said two people were charged with bringing more than 150 pounds of marijuana into Tennessee after authorities found pot on a small plane.
Dennis Howard Bonneau, 47, of Weston, Fla. and Erin Elizabeth Reed, 34, of Arcata, Cali. are each charged with manufacturing, delivery or sale of a schedule VI drug.
TBI said authorities were alerted to a scheduled delivery at the Crossville Municipal Airport. Responding officers found a pilot, Bonneau, and a small plane on the tarmac and said they found 66 pounds of pot on the plane during a search. Inside the airport lobby, officers said they found Reed in possession of a bag containing 90 pounds of pharmaceutical grade marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Bonneau and Reed were booked into Cumberland County Jail on $500,000 bonds each.
Agencies involved in the case include Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Drug Investigation Division, the Crossville Police Department, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, the Middle Tennessee High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Homeland Security Investigations.
